Ministry Sites

"These people are our family,

these mountains

are our home."

It has long been our prayer that those who travel and serve on a Work and Witness trip with ARO are challenged to be the hands and feet of Christ in their own communities back home. The presence of four ARO Work and Witness sites spanning three states is testament to how God has been faithful to answer that prayer! Each location hosts Work and Witness teams to serve the unique needs of their community while adopting ARO's mission and model. Click the ministry sites below to learn more about what makes each site unique.

Martin County has been the home base of ARO since 1972. Work and Witness teams, directed by Bob and Marilyn DeJong, lodge on ARO's campus and partner in home repairs, women's addiction treatment centers, ARO's thrift store and food pantry, local schools, and more.

Since the devastating floods of 2022, ARO Work and Witness teams have served in disaster relief, repairing homes while lodging at a partner church. Directed by Sam Stacy.

In 2019, ARO began hosting Work and Witness teams in Nicholas County, lodging at a Nazarene campground and serving the families in the local community with home repairs. Work is paused here for now.

In 2024, Chance Cooper began to direct ARO's newest Work and Witness site, Scioto County, OH, in partnership with Cornerstone Nazarene Church and the South Central Ohio Nazarene District.
